In the United States, flu season takes place in the fall and winter. While the flu can circulate year-round, the highest amount of cases are usually recorded between December and February. However, flu season has been known to extend until May. The overall impact that the flu has, such as infections, hospitalizations, and deaths, varies yearly. This is why it’s imperative that we do everything in our power to prevent the spread of the flu this season since we don’t know how it’s going to unfold, especially with coronavirus prevalent. 

Tips For Staying Healthy

Additionally, practicing good health habits can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu. Avoid others who may be sick or have been around people who are sick. If you happen to get sick, keep your distance from others and try to stay inside as much as possible. Also, washing your hands often will help prevent the spread of germs. Always use soap and water and make sure to clean thoroughly. Lastly, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth especially when in public. By practicing these healthy habits, you will help prevent the spread and keep you and your family protected.
