Today’s BLOG will be short and sweet. We get asked a lot by our TRT patients, whether there is anything out on the market that can deliver great results, that doesn’t require testosterone injections. The answer to that is a resounding YES! We are always following the science to learn about new (and old) therapies that can help our patients reach optimal health and vitality.
Although there are various oral medications on the TRT table, the one that we have found to work the best goes by the name of Enclomiphene. Enclomiphene is a medication that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of hypogonadism in men. It is an oral, non-steroidal selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). Enclomiphene has been found to increase testosterone levels in men with low levels of testosterone, either due to a condition called hypogonadism or because they are taking medication such as opioids, steroids, or other drugs that can reduce testosterone production.
Enclomiphene works by blocking the effects of estrogen on certain cells, allowing the body to produce more testosterone. This action helps to restore normal levels of testosterone in men, allowing them to feel more energetic and to enjoy a normal libido and sexual function. This drug is available in a tablet form and is taken orally, typically one tablet each day. The doses vary patient to patient, so it is important to speak with one of the BioCure Health Treatment Coordinators to see how and what your treatment would consist of.
Other lifestyle changes may need to be made in order to ensure that the body responds to enclomiphene in the most effective way. Men should try to follow a balanced diet and exercise regularly, both of which can help to optimize the effects of the drug. Furthermore, men should avoid smoking, minimize alcohol, and refrain from taking recreational drugs as these can all reduce testosterone production. One other topic which is important to discuss is sleep! It is imperative to improve sleep hygiene for you to be able to achieve the highest levels of testosterone, with or without treatment.
In summary, if you have a phobia of needles, or simply don’t like injecting yourself, there are other effective options out there. Enclomiphene is a safe medication for restoring testosterone levels in men with hypogonadism. It works by blocking the effects of estrogen and may only need to be taken once a day in tablet form. Other lifestyle changes should also be made to help the body respond effectively to the medication.
