Giving Back To Our Heroes

Every day, first responders selflessly put themselves on the front lines to protect their communities and the people in them. No matter what kind of disaster it is, they are always the first on the scene ready to extend a helping hand. This last year, first responders have been working tirelessly in the fight against COVID-19 to keep us all safe. We can only imagine how these trying times have taken a toll on the physical and mental health of these men and women. And yet, they continue to give us their all day in and day out. There is only one word suitable for what these people are and that’s heroes. Because of this, at BioCure we feel that the least we could do is give back to these heroes that give us so much. We appreciate all that they do for us and understand the physical, mental and emotional stress that is placed on them. So much stress, however, can have negative impacts on health. So we decided to help out in the best way we know how, by protecting their health. We are happy to announce that for the entire month of April, we will be providing all first responders with a $100 BioCure gift card whenever they book an appointment with us.

The Effects Of Stress On First Responders

First responders have a very demanding job — whether that’s paramedics, medical personnel, police officers, firefighters, or anyone else on the front lines. They face challenging, draining and often dangerous situations on a daily basis as they provide physical and emotional support to the people in their communities. These duties, although necessary, put them at an increased risk of stress. When in these situations, the body triggers its “fight or flight” response, releasing stress hormones to keep the body focused and prepare it for action. Stress can be beneficial to the body for short-term situations, but when the stress response becomes a daily occurrence, it can place health at serious risk. It can affect everything from the central nervous and cardiovascular system to the muscular and digestive system. Common symptoms of chronic stress include:

  • Irritability
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Headaches
  • Insomnia
  • High blood pressure
  • Digestive issues
  • Body pain

If you’re a first responder who suffers from these symptoms, it is important to seek medical attention to ensure that your health isn’t in jeopardy.

Better Health For Our Heroes

First responders represent the best of society, serving as an ideal for all of us to strive towards. They deserve our respect, our appreciation and most of all for their health to be taken care of the same way they take care of us. At BioCure, we are a multidisciplinary healthcare clinic in South Florida dedicated to the wellbeing of every individual. Throughout the month of April, we will be providing all first responders with a $100 BioCure gift card to use on any of our treatments when they book an appointment with us. So contact us today and see how we can help you look and feel your best. To our heroes, we thank you.
